Chapel Scene Color Grading

The Phoenician Scheme is a 2025 film by Wes Anderson. The story remains mostly under wraps, but the trailer is already catching my attention for its style. One standout moment shows a chapel scene with wood browns and cool grays (0:35s).

This LUT is inspired by that chapel scene. It shifts colors toward bluish grays and wood browns. Here’s a comparison from the film and this LUT.

This LUT helps you get the right color grading, but much of the overall look comes from choosing a simple color palette and using symmetrical shots during filming. For best results, use footage with neutral walls, some wood accents, and minimal colors in the scene.

Color Grading

This LUT does most of its work in the tone curves. The bluish grays come from adjustments in the tone curve, while the shift toward wood browns is done by changing the hue. It uses very low contrast for a flat look, but ideally your footage should have even lighting.
