Moody & Cinematic City Photos
With this Lightroom preset, you can emphasize the yellows and make your cityscapes look moody and cinematic. When visiting New York, I was inspired by the city’s lively urban atmosphere. The bustling streets and iconic architecture makes you feel alive. One thing I noticed was the color palette of New York – marigold yellows and gray. From the taxis to street street signs and pavement lines, you’ll notice this marigold yellow all over NYC.
Color Grading
Featuring coral reds, slate blues, and marigold yellows, this preset creates a pleasing look for city photos. The tonal contrast of the yellows are increased, giving a boost to New York’s signature yellow cabs and other yellow elements. Grays have a slight blue-green tint.
Preset Tips
- Increase Dehaze and Grain for a raw, gritty look.
- To make the yellows more vibrant, play with the Color Mixer > Saturation. Increase the saturation of the oranges and yellows.
