Gold and Blue LUT

A Celebratory Look

Looking for a LUT for celebrations or luxury lifestyles? This LUT applies a gold and blue palette that creates a warm cool contrast and a polished feel, similar to the popular brown and blue grade but with yellows shifted toward marigold and boosted contrast. That added contrast gives the yellows a metallic look, which pairs well with flatter slate blues.

This LUT suits New Year countdowns, parties, galas, and upscale events, and it also shines in luxury travel content. Use it for high end events and wealth themed ads. The gold accents gives a celebratory theme while the slate blues keep the scene refined and modern.

Replicating “The White Lotus”

I experimented with several different shades of blue and ultimately came down to this muted, slate blue which helps tone down the gold. If you want a look that is similar to the HBO series “The White Lotus“, you can lower the LUT amount to around 50%. And to control the balance of gold and blue, simply change the white balance of your footage.

Color Grading

This LUT shifts colors towards marigold yellows, and it increases the contrast in those yellows to give it a gold-like look. Colors are shifted towards gold and blue.

Skin Tone Protection

In the free download, you’ll receive the standard Gold and Blue LUT. If you are a Studio member, you will receive an additional LUT with skin tone protection. This LUT uses VOXCOLOR’s Skin Tone Protection algorithm to restore the original skin tones, making it ideal for portraits.

Note that the skin-protected LUT removes the gold effect, so I recommend mixing it in with the original LUT to control the amount of “gold”.
